red bull air race in san diego

we went to the red bull air race it was really fun and it wouldn't take much to make it a bad day the way they were so close to the ground and making really sharp turns in the bay of San Diego one mistake would've been costly but it didn't happen thankfully and they were racing against the clock and they had to go through the course 2 times which took them about a minute and a half and it was all over and had to wait for the next plane to come in and try it but while you were waiting they had a helicopter doing tricks like a roll upside down which to me is kind of loony but they must have had some kind of special rotor head that would keep them in the air or the pilot was really good because i know if we tried that in our birds we'd be pulled to the earth faster then gravity but it was a good time and we got our eyes full of some spectacular pilots also they had the military doing several fly bys in f-18's S-3's prowlers and a couple other ones and also did some in flight refueling showing off what they can do

Rachelle's birthday

well unfortunately since our squadron was reworking the way we do work i had to work part of the day till about noon for a safety stand down where they talk about safety issues that are going on but after my division officer found out it was her birthday he decided to take us out for lunch and buy for us and the rest of my shop he suggested that we go to Dicks Last Resort which is a little different kind of restaurant the waiters and waitresses are rude to you and you are to be rude back it was a little different then we were used too but fun. Divo's bill when it was all over buying food for everyone and drinks the bill had to be close to 400$ which was very nice of him to do and we had a very good time after we went to go see a movie and dinner at olive garden with some friends we have out here that we hang out with all the time and had a very nice evening also so that was Rachelle's birthday till next time

Our change of command at hsl 49

well today we had our change of command where we get a new commanding officer of our squadron our old CO was commander connelly and our new CO is our old executive officer commander Frazier which i think will be a excellent commanding officer I'm glad its all over with because there is so much work in getting the building and everything ready for the change we had to paint everything get everything set up for the ceremony and had to get our full dress whites ready all for about an hr and a half long ceremony the old CO had a speech and had a guest speaker the captain of the uss boxer and then the old CO read his new orders saying that he was to report to a different command and wait till he is properly relieved by his replacement and so after his orders were read the new CO read his orders saying that he was supposed to take command at hsl 49 and relieve the old CO after he was done reading he turned to the old CO and says " i properly relieve you of your duties" the old CO salutes and says " I stand relieved" and then it's official that the new CO has command from that moment until he is relieved which will be about a yr to a yr and 3 months approximately then they had the band play and the retirement of the colors (the united states flag) and the ceremony was over of course we had to stand at attention the whole time and only one person passed out usually there are a few but i guess we got lucky this year the helicopter looked very nice it had the torpedo and the missiles and the .50 Cal machine gun on there which i have pics of below and the best part of it is we got the rest of the day off and Fri off which is always nice

2nd wedding anniversary 7/24/05

Well today is our 2nd year anniversary. And its been a great one even though we both had to work. We went to go see two movies Harry Potter and Die Hard which were both very good. Also i came up with this habit that i would call our anniversary our honeymoon. "It's our second honeymoon" i would say and Rachelle would always correct me ha ha. But to me it's like i never came home from my honeymoon it's like we're on ours still to this day, so maybe I'm not wrong. I'm still madly in love and treat her as if we are still on our honeymoon. Maybe if we're lucky we can keep that for a lifetime that wouldn't that be awesome.

how rachelle's job is going

Well Rachelle got back safe and sound last sat and since she has sold one closet and one garage. She has sold so far every meeting she went to so far. And she really seems to enjoy it a lot. Closet world sells more then just closets they sell things to organize your garage and workbench to set up a offices, and pantries. So they can be useful to organize any room pretty much in the house. And I've seen some of they're products and they are really made well, can be a little on the expensive side but your getting some quality for it.

4TH OF JULY!!!

Well for the 4 th of July we came across some free tickets to the San Diego Padres. It is a new park which is very sharp and comfortable seats even up in the nose bleed section that we were at. For the 4th they had something a little special for the national anthem, they had all the military uniforms from the beginning of this country all the way to the present time it was neat to see how the uniforms progressed through the times. Durning the song they shot off the old muskets, and had a navy singer sing the anthem. In support of the troops the padres also wore they're special camouflage uniforms. The game was a close one against the Florida Marlins. At first looked like it may be a blow out because the first pitch of the game the Marlins cracked a triple, but soon it became a battle of the pitchers for a scoreless game all the way up to the bottom of the 9th when the padres loaded up the bases and then hit another one into the outfield to end the game at 0-1 PADRES WIN!!! after the game they had a nice display of fireworks. well i hope all of you had a fun safe holiday and till next time we'll see ya later

well we got Rachelle's green card

Well after about a year and 11 months we finally had her final meeting for Rachelle's green card for her permanent residency. It's just too bad it wasn't after our second anniversary which is July 24 because then we wouldn't have all the restrictions and we wouldn't have to go back 21 months later to get the restrictions removed. oh well at least she is able to work legally in this country finally. Our lawyer was surprised on how quickly our meeting went it was about a 1/2 hr long and most of it was stamping all our paperwork. they only asked us a few questions that really weren't that hard the lawyer had us scared on how they grill you about every little thing but we didn't have that and he was very surprised maybe because i was in my dress whites might of helped or all the pictures we had together might have been enough proof that it wasn't a fake marriage. But i don't know that i really care just as long as it was approved at the end it has been such a weight lifted off the both of us. Not having to worry anymore about explaining how she got into the country ect. now we just have to wait three years before she can get her citizenship which may mean i'll have to extend for 6 months in the navy in order to do this out here with the excellent lawyer we have so we can make sure its done right and she don't loose her Canadian citizenship.

Tim's wedding

Well we just got back from Niles for my brothers tim and his new wife Lisa's wedding. Which was very nice wedding. And durning the reception my other brother Mark purposed to his girl friend Laura by putting a ring under her seat and saying that the bride and groom has put a prize under one of the guests seats and to look she of course got the prize instantly started crying and shaking. mark got down and asked her to marry him and she of course said yes yay so he'll be getting married next year. My mom said the best part of the reception was that she got to dance with all three boys that was her highlight of the evening. They had a good turnout for they're wedding and everything went off without a hitch. thankgoodness

i made PC

well some good news i passed a board that made me a plane captain so now i have a say in what the pilots do until i release them to fly plane captain is a very important job its the first qualification you can get but also alot of responisbility because the crew for that aircraft is trusting you that you did your job correctly and found all the problems for that aircraft and got them fixed before they fly and then we also become the pilots eyes around the aircraft so the aircraft, building or somebody else doesn't get hurt. the board had 15 people cheifs and officers hammering questions " what would you do in this situation?" and its an emergency situation and you have to react accorrdingly and keep a good head on your shoulders or something bad will happen so thats whats going on with me hope you understand at least a lil bit what a plane captain does
